Greenbottles v Tatiara – Under 16

Greenbottles and Tatiara played out a hard-fought game that featured strong defence, quick turnovers, and constant pressure from both sides.

Tatiara started strongly, applying early heat to Greenbottles’ backline but couldn’t score. Greenbottles earned a couple of short corners but again, couldn’t convert.

The game became a midfield battle. Greenbottles had several promising shots, but it was Tatiara who struck first, with Hannah Harkness scoring from a well-timed deflection. Greenbottles responded with attacking play, forcing two short corners but again came up empty. A Tatiara turnover led to further pressure, and Lachie Robertson found the back of the net, extending their lead.

At the half time break, Greenbottles regrouped, and pushed into the circle early in the third quarter, where heavy congestion resulted in a penalty stroke. Eliza calmly slotted it in, closing the gap.

In the final quarter, Tatiara held much of the territory early, but Greenbottles kept pushing. Their persistence paid off when Toby Boord fired a strong shot from the top of the circle to level the score. The final minutes were a tough contest, with both teams pressing but unable to break the deadlock.

It was a high-energy match that ended rightfully in a draw.

Greenbottles v Dartmoor – Men

The clash between Greenbottles and Dartmoor was tightly contested from the first whistle. Greenbottles struck first, earning a short corner in which a clever fake from Will Miles set up Toby Boord for the opening goal. Despite earning several more shorts in quick succession, Greenbottles were unable to convert.

In the second quarter, Will Miles quickly added to the scoreboard with a fast goal for Greenbottles. The momentum stayed with them, with the Murray brothers shutting down Dartmoor’s attacking breaks. Persistent pressure eventually paid off with a high ball resulting in Dartmoor’s first goal. A midfield turnover led to a fast breakaway, allowing Dartmoor to level the score at 2-2.

The third quarter was end-to-end. Cam Taylor broke the deadlock with some clever stick work to put Greens back in front. Dartmoor fought back with a series of short corners, but Greenbottles’ defence held firm. Max Hood extended the lead with a well-earned goal after sustained forward pressure.

Dartmoor came out firing in the final quarter, putting Greenbottles’ defence to the test. Greenbottles responded with a fast-paced counterattack and were unlucky not to score. The midfield worked hard as the tempo remained high. Mason White had some strong plays for Dartmoor, but the scoreboard remained unchanged, leaving Greenbottles with the win.
