Round 10 – Season 2022
The games showed good structured play while using the wide players to move the ball up the field in both directions.
Under 9 – mixed matches
U9’s had a great start to the weekend with perfect hockey weather.
It took a bit to get them started but once the ball started rolling both Kingston/Lucindale Rangers and Redlegs really gave it all they had. The play was even throughout the game with lots of passing, calling for the ball and good use of all players on the field.
The game showed good structured play while using the wide players to move the ball up the field in both directions.
All the U9’s deserve a pat on the back as they have all improved over the season and the results are evident when watching them play on Saturdays.

What a great start to the day!
The first half was very back and forth, most of the time the ball was in the middle but the course of the game changed a lot very quickly.
There were a few penalty corners where both teams played amazing defence and attack. The half ended on a total of 3 goals.
The second half came in a flash and so did the pressure, not just from the attack but the defence too!
The ball was mostly up Kingston/Lucindale’s attacking half with the occasional hit up to the Reds attack.
From both teams’ defenders there were some really good clearances for the rest of their team to get the ball and run/pass it up to their attack.

Redlegs vs Kingston/Lucindale – Under 16
Redlegs came out strong, winning the toss and trying to pressure Kingston/Lucindale’s defence as much as possible.
Although Redlegs’ efforts to hold the Kingston/Lucindale attack off they entered half time with a 2-0 lead of the fighting Reds.
After half time Redlegs came out strong with several penalty corners to start the half, not being able to put anything on the score board.
A quick breakaway from Kingston/Lucindale’s attack meant a quick goal to leave a 3-0 win.

Redlegs vs Kingston/Lucindale – Women
Redlegs started strong early in the first quarter, with Jorja Doecke scoring at the 5 minute mark.
Persistence by Amanda Davey pushed Redlegs forward again but Kingston/Lucindale’s defence held them out.
At the middle of the first term, Kingston/Lucindale gained momentum and went into attack but to no avail.
Redlegs were rewarded with a couple of short corners late in the half, with Jorja scoring her second goal.
At the start of the second half, Redlegs earnt a free outside the circle with Kelly Gale playing on from the free and hitting strongly at goal to slot through her team’s third score.
Kingston/Lucindale’s defence were under the pump but held Redlegs at bay until late in the third. Grace Gale’s great positioning paid off and she was rewarded with a goal.
Kelli Harris was enjoying her time in the forward line and was determined to score. She was feeling a little despondent due to some heckling on the sideline.
Kingston/Lucindale’s goalie and defence players did a great job holding out many attempts from Redlegs, but Kelly Gale powered through another strong goal from just inside the circle.
Kelli Harris made great positioning all game and after several attempts at goal, finally slotted one only to be denied by the full-time whistle.
Kingston/Lucindale played a good team game.

Redlegs vs Kingston/Lucindale – Men
In a hard fought game Redlegs came out firing scoring 2 quick goals in the first quarter.
Kingston/Lucindale replied with 2 of their own, only for Redlegs to get another back late in the first half taking the score to 3-2.
Late in the game Kingston/Lucindale scored the equaliser putting the game all square with a finishing score of 3-3.
