What an amazing end of the season for Redlegs whose first game against Kingston/Lucindale was one way traffic in favour of KL. This was a great, tough game and all players fought hard, right to the end. Well done to all of the kids.

Dartmoor vs Greenbottles – Under 13

Dartmoor and Greenbottles give their all every week so we knew this would be a fantastic semi final battle.

Dartmoor came out strong from the start pushing the ball into their forward half with great runs from Kendra Lewis. Darts had great team work and backed each other up well making it hard for Greens to clear the ball from their defence.

Jada Copping did a fantastic job in the middle stopping many of Darts attempts to get into the circle.

Darts breaking through and Ben Durik put the first score on the board.

Greens had some great runs into their forward line through Harriet Waters and Alice Fry. Harrison Andrews and Henry Fry also working hard to get the ball forward for Greens.

Eddie Dolphin was strong in the centre getting the ball forward for Darts. Darts scoring their second goal through Jacob Lewis with a flat reverse hit after a rebound on a penalty corner.

Darts continued to be strong up forward, Eddie Dolphin scoring their third goal.
Dartmoor winning 3-0 and advancing to the Grand Final while Greenbottles have to face off with Kingston/Lucindale in the Preliminary Final next week.

A great team effort by both sides. Both teams were missing players but showed awesome skill and teamwork. Young players from both sides did amazingly.

Greenbottles v Tatiara – Men

A waterlogged pitch for the first quarter slowed the game down for the top two men’s teams.

Greenbottles played Tatiara in a Friday night semi final clash in damp conditions but it didn’t dampen the standard of hockey on show.

Tatiara was first to score off a short with Jonah Williams drag flicking past Bear in goals. It took greens till the second quarter for Gabe to score the equalizer with a tomahawk slammed into the goals for Greens.

The tension was building between these two teams who always love a strong tussle. One all at half time.

Early into the third quarter again Gabe was involved in an attack crossing a cracker of a ball to Col who kept all his body parts safe by luckily having his hockey stick in the right place and he deflected into the goals for Greens!

Someone must have forgot to tell Gavin Boord he wasn’t 25 anymore as he played like a young man to score 2 decisive goals to show the youngsters that there’s plenty of life left in the old dog yet!!

Tatiara kept pushing strongly forward where a certain Henry “this is not soccer” Norcock may have saved a goal with his legs instead of his stick!! This resulted in a penalty flick which was converted by Hamish Verco.

Greenbottles eventually fought out the rest of the match to win 4-2 and go straight into the Grand Final while Tatiara move into the Preliminary Final against Dartmoor.
