Kingston/Lucindale vs Dartmoor – Under 13

The Kingston/Lucindale Rangers took to the field against Dartmoor on Saturday for the first time this season. K/L were missing some key players however, with experienced player John Clothier and young gun Archie Loechel, they worked well together to bring the ball to their attack, but were shut down by the Dartmoor defence.

Jordan Gale stood tall for Dartmoor, with both his skill and his height, having several runs through the centre and into their attacking circle, but Kingston/Lucindale’s goalie Amelia Johns, being well supported by full backs Connor and Zane, were able to stop the flow of play.

The young age of both the teams saw a very back and forth game, allowing every player to have a go. At the last minute, Adelyn Lewis from Dartmoor saw an opportunity and was able to score the only goal for the game giving Dartmoor a 1-0 win.

Kingston/Lucindale vs Dartmoor – Men

As the chill started to set in for the final match of the day, the Kingston/Lucindale Rangers came out hot, taking the ball and surging down the field for a quick, clean goal scored by Kenn Jardine. Dartmoor responded and soon the K/L Rangers defenders were under pressure. With some impressive stick skills, it wasn’t long until Jesse Lewis scored the equalising goal.

Both teams were keen to get the lead, spurring on some gritty, competitive play. The game remained quite fluid for the opening term, with both sides using the depth and width of the field to their advantage. Dartmoor’s Mason White was the next to convert, smashing a fiery ball from the top of the circle into the corner of the goal.

KL Rangers continued to defend well against the stick to stick passing from Dartmoor’s Jesse Lewis and Chris Marshall, with Craig Smith and goalie Aaron Clothier stopping some strong shots on goal. The K/L Rangers couldn’t hold off Dartmoor completely, however, a well-positioned newbie Matt Reeves knocked the injected ball in from the post to score a goal in his first game.

While Dartmoor retained more possession in their 25, the game was far from one-sided, with the K/L Rangers providing some exciting charges down to their attacking end led by some three-dimensional play by George Shand to the dangerous Kenn Jardine and Zak Farrell lingering high in the attacking half. It was the quick-footed Jesse Lewis who sealed the final fate of the game, however, scoring another two impressive goals to bring his final total to three and the match score a 5-1 win for Dartmoor.
