Dartmoor came into the grand final after a dominant season, while Greenbottles had shown steady improvement every time they stepped onto the field.

Both teams brought their best to the big game. The theme of the day was defence. Greenbottles weren’t going down without a fight, and both sides ran themselves ragged in a fast and determined contest.

The breakthrough came in the second quarter when Eddie Dolphin slotted Dartmoor’s goal, giving them the edge. From there, Greenbottles’ defence stood tall, clearing the ball with powerful hits and refusing to make things easy.

Dartmoor’s defence shone in the third and fourth quarters, holding firm against several dangerous Greenbottles attacks. Both teams played beautifully, with no further goals added to the scoreboard.

Both teams held onto the competition with no chance of it slipping out. Despite the 1-0 win for Dartmoor, the game was about as even as it could have been without ending in a draw.

Following the close game, the two umpires were forced to chose a best on ground which was awarded to Greenbottles’ Madeleine McGregor.

U16 Results – Greenbottles 2 def Tatiara 1

Greenbottles claimed the grand final in style with a narrow 2-1 win over Tatiara.

Tatiara began on the front foot, creating several scoring opportunities in the opening quarter. Despite the pressure, Greenbottles’ defence, Corrie, Jada, Harrison and Lachie, maintained composure and made it difficult for Tatiara to successfully break through.

In attack, Greenbottles built momentum through excellent forward runs and strong combinations. The strikers — Madeleine, Winnie, Alice and Eliza — pushed hard all game, finding space and linking up beautifully to keep Tatiara’s defence busy. Their persistence set up critical opportunities, and when Greenbottles earned short corners in the third quarter, they made them count; Toby stepped up, scoring twice with sharp finishes to give his team a crucial lead before half time.

Tatiara refused to give in, with Lachie managing to pull one goal back late in the game. It was a high-quality contest played in great spirit, but Greenbottles’ teamwork, discipline, and ability to convert ensured they emerged grand final champions.

Women’s Results – Dartmoor 2 def Greenbottles 0

Dartmoor came in fresh from their semi-final win, while Greenbottles carried the determination of last week’s preliminary win. Both sides showcased a beautiful mix of experienced players and exciting young talent, setting the stage for a thrilling contest.

The opening quarter was hotly contested, with both sides probing and trying to make their mark. Much of the play was fought in the midfield, but by the end of the first quarter Greenbottles had the upper hand, putting Dartmoor’s defence under significant pressure.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern—tight midfield battles and clever short passes. Greenbottles’ midfield deserved full credit for shutting down Dartmoor’s attempts to push forward, while Dartmoor’s defence remained rock solid, repelling multiple entries into the circle. At half-time, the scoreboard still read 0–0, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats.

After the break, the intensity lifted. Both sides came out hungry for the first goal, refusing to give an inch. Dartmoor created some strong forward breaks, but Greenbottles’ defence stood tall and denied their opportunities. The breakthrough finally came when Jane Agnew fired a shot from the top of the circle, slotting it past the keeper to put Dartmoor ahead 1–0 late in the third quarter.

Greenbottles stormed into the final quarter with determination written all over their faces. Their attacking waves were relentless, but Dartmoor shifted into a more defensive game, fiercely protecting their lead. When Dartmoor broke away and forced a short corner, Brooke Green stepped up and produced some magic, driving the ball home to extend the margin.

Still, Greenbottles refused to give in. They fought to the very last whistle and were rewarded with a short corner in the dying seconds of the game. But once again, Dartmoor’s defence stood tall, denying them a goal. As the final whistle blew, and the pressure lifted from each player, the 2025 women’s competition came to an end, declaring Dartmoor the champions.

Men’s Results – Greenbottles 6 def Redlegs 2

The Greenbottles’ men’s side put on a dominant grand final display, taking home a 6-2 victory against Redlegs. Greenbottles, ably led by coach Trent Waters, were intent on reclaiming the premiership after Redlegs’ win against them in last year’s grand final. The rematch against the two teams was well anticipated by everyone at the NDHA as the winner of the match could’ve been anyone.

Redlegs began the game strong, despite the loss of 3 crucial players, and were able to put the first goal on the board with an amazing hit in by Jacob Edwards. The goal didn’t come easy as the Greenbottles defence kept watching the ball like a hawk and were somehow always wherever it was. The game was mostly kept in the Greenbottles attack, with some runs being made by the Redlegs midfield and into their attack, however no goals were made.

In the second quarter, Greenbottles showed the crowd what they were there to do and did it amazingly. Between Matt McGregor and Gavin Boord, the structure of the team was strong, and the younglings had guidance into the Mens grand final. Cameron Taylor did not disappoint, giving the team and club a total of three goals, half the total for Greenbottles, and put Redlegs under pressure, always being where the ball was passed.

Gavin and Toby Boord were able to gain two goals in between them, and one followed by Will Miles after a hit from the top of the circle. The Uncle-Nephew duo Andrew Doecke and Jacob Edwards were able to hold Redlegs into the game, one scoring both goals for Redlegs, and the other saving them. The final goal of the game by Redlegs was met by the final whistle of the year, granting Greenbottles the champions trophy for the 2025 season, and the umpires awarding the best on ground to the man with the greatest reflexes, Andrew Doecke .
