Under 16 – Redlegs v Tatiara
The brisk Friday evening started with eager faces followed by eager calls. The quarter was spent evenly in both attacks with amazing coverages given by both goalies. The cold air didn’t stop any of the players as both teams fought till the whistle ended the quarter nil all.
The second quarter was mostly spent down in Redlegs’ defence. The starting blow was quickly met by two goals from Tatiara’s Lachlan Robertson. A few more shots by Tatiara saw the end of the half 2-0.
The half time break cooled everyone down, but the players went back on the field in order to finish their night. The half was met by 3 more goals for Tatiara who, if it weren’t for the Redlegs defence team and goalie Cooper, would have a lot more. A few quick runs by the Redlegs attack gave great opportunities, but they were beaten by the end of the third quarter.
The last quarter was welcomed by the tired under 16’s players who despite their fatigue, stayed in the game and tackled each other just as hard as the first quarter. Redlegs kept fighting against the score board with their first goal of the game scored by Madric Brennan. The rest of the match was played in Redlegs defence where they were able to keep the ball out of the goals and the score stable, finishing up with a 5-1 win for Tatiara.

Men – Redlegs v Dartmoor
The senior’s competition started briskly as both men’s teams wandered to the field to begin their match. The first quarter was spent mostly in the middle of the field where both teams fought to get the ball in their attack. The Dartmoor forwards succeeded first scoring the first goal of the game. Redlegs closely followed scoring a shot off a long corner.
The second quarter was played beautifully by the Dartmoor defence and attack. Redlegs laid some great tackles, however the ball stayed in Darts possession. A lot of back and forth was played throughout the quarter, a quick run from Redlegs gave them a short corner but were unable to put it away, ending the half one all.
The third quarter was spent once again in the middle of the field in both team’s possessions. Dartmoor were able to sneak a goal past the Redlegs goalie Andrew Doecke. The game continued evenly as the players began to tire. The whistle to end the quarter was welcomed with a goal for Redlegs’ Buzz Brennan.
The final quarter began strong for Redlegs however, they quickly got shut down by the Dartmoor defence. The ball then got passed around the field with both teams getting an even amount of play. Redlegs managed to get the ball into their attack, which resulted in Buzz having a quick shot and scored his 2nd goal. Another burst gave Redlegs the opportunity to pass out to their wing on post and score their 4th goal of the game. A stroke was awarded to the Redlegs attack as they scored their fifth and final goal to finish the game 5-2.
