Welcome to the SA Regional Junior Champs in Naracoorte!
“The SA Regional Junior Hockey Championships began in 2001, hosted by the Riverland Hockey Association at Berri.
The main objective was, and still is, to promote the growth and development of hockey among juniors in Under 18, Under 15 and Under 13 boys and girls age divisions* within the regional hockey associations of South Australia.
The Regionals are held each October long weekend on a rotation basis amongst the regional associations.”
*SARJC age groups are currently Under 13, Under 16 and Under 19

Team Photographs
Christine Bull from Bull’s Rustic Wood’n’Frames incl Photos & Design will be taking the group photos on the morning of Saturday 5th October. All orders will be plastic wrapped and cardboard backed for protection – and may be posted individually or as a bulk order in consultation with your Team Manager (postage will be extra). Please order your photos online and then pay on the day.
Christine will be taking a STANDARD group photo as well as FUN photo and will place them on her FB page so you may choose.
If you’d like a few action shots please ask Christine. Also, if your whole family is attending, you may like a quick family photo in the bushland (these will be digital options).
Any queries please ask: 0429 865 230, FB messenger Christine Bull or email [email protected]
Regionals Merchandise
Naracoorte Print & Embroidery are helping us out with the merchandise options for the Regionals this year. If you would like to purchase items please follow the link to the order portal:
Orders must be placed prior to Wednesday, 11th September for them to be available to collect on the tournament weekend. Late orders can be made, but they will incur a charge for postage following the event.
Our association receives no income from the merchandise, all payments go direct to the business.
Player Pool
Reminder to all players to please let your association coordinator know of your interest in participating in the Regionals. If your association is unable to find enough players for a full team you can then be put into the player pool and picked up by another association looking for extras.
**UPDATE**
If your association has advised that they will not be entering a team in the SA Regionals in your age group, you are encouraged to enter your name into the player pool to be picked up by another team needing extras. Please only enter the player pool if your association has confirmed that they don’t have a team for you.
It has been decided that the Under 19 competition will be 9-a-side to help with team nominations. If you are an U19 player without a team please nominate in the player pool and we will find you a team to play with.
We are also welcoming a maximum of 4 metro based players per team to help with numbers, but not in preference to regional based players. With junior metro players also missing out on being able to play in purely participation focused events, we think this might be a good opportunity to share with them the wonderful atmosphere that is always generated at the Regionals.
The link to the player pool form can be found in the pinned posts in the Regionals FB group.
Accommodation in Naracoorte
Please get in early to book your accommodation as there is another event in the area at the same time as the Regionals so accommodation could be tricky to find.
There is a variety of accommodation available in and around Naracoorte but this may fill up quickly so other options may also include Lucindale, Penola, Coonawarra and Padthaway. There may also be accommodation available at the Naracoorte Caves or at Apsley or Edenhope (nearby Victorian towns).
We encourage you to contact the Visitor Information Centre in Naracoorte on 08 8762 1399 or to check their website for accommodation options: https://www.naracoortelucindale.sa.gov.au/stay-do/business-directory
Suggestions have been made in regards to group accommodation options at the Guide Hall, Scout Hall and Naracoorte South Primary School. Please contact these organisations directly to enquire. We will follow up with as many options as we can find and try to pass the information on to associations via their association contacts or via the Regionals Facebook group.
For those enquiring about a CAMPING ACCOMMODATION option, the cost for camping/caravan parking at the high school will be $10 per family for the weekend. This includes use of the toilet and shower facilities. Swagging in a classroom is also an option at the high school. Please note, we cannot guarantee access to a power supply so best to come prepared to be self sufficient with a (quietish) generator or other lighting/power sources if required. To book a spot at the high school please contact Kelli Harris via messenger.
