Round 10 – Season 2023
In the chilly, frisk conditions players came out strong with good attack and tough defensive lines, all teams were ready to win.
Kingston/Lucindale vs Dartmoor – Under 13
Dartmoor started the game quickly, moving the ball into their attacking half and having an early shot at goal that the Kingston/Lucindale goalie defended well. The Rangers defenders were working hard with Darts continuing to press forward in attack. Dartmoor earned a short corner but no score.
Kingston/Lucindale Rangers pressed forward in attack but Dartmoor’s defenders quickly pushed the ball back down the field. There was good movement of the ball from both teams up and down the field. Some excellent defence from the Rangers’ goalie kept the ball out of the goal but resulted in a short corner for Dartmoor again. Once again the Kingston/Lucindale Rangers goalie stood up to the challenge and at the end of the first quarter both teams were yet to score.
The second quarter saw Dartmoor on the attack with a couple of shots at goal before Mason White scored a goal for Dartmoor. The Kingston/Lucindale defenders were getting a work out with Daniel Hill particularly standing strong and clearing the ball out regularly. Darts had regular shots on goal that were nicely deflected away by Rangers goalie John Clothier.
A nice pass into the Darts circle saw Mason White score again. Good passing around by the Rangers team had them moving the ball up the field but Dartmoor’s defence was too strong. A foot violation in the Darts circle resulted in a penalty stroke with Dartmoor scoring, followed by another quick goal by Dartmoor. A good scoring quarter from Dartmoor with the score at half time Dartmoor 4 Rangers 0.
Darts continued to attack strongly in the third quarter but the Kingston/Lucindale Rangers defence managed to keep clearing the ball out. Rangers fought hard to work ball down the field with Sarah Johns having a shot on goal but Dartmoor’s goalie Bree Ellis defended away swiftly. The ball movement up and down field by both teams was quick and accurate and it was good to see both teams sharing the ball around. Darts won a short corner but was defended well with both teams goalless in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter started with an early short corner for Dartmoor but no score. The Kingston/Lucindale Rangers moved the ball down to their attacking end but was once again defended quickly by Dartmoor and their counter attack saw another goal scored for Darts. Darts continued pressing in attack and the Rangers defender’s were certainly getting a work out. Dartmoor finished the game strongly with another 3 short corner penalties but the Rangers were able to hold off any more goals.
A great game by both teams. Final score 5-0, well done Darts.

Kingston/Lucindale vs Dartmoor- Under 16
In the chilly, frisk conditions Dartmoor came out strong with their good attack and defensive line, both teams were ready to win. Kingston/Lucindale were quite strong in the first quarter only letting in 2 goals, but they kept their heads up high and worked to get the ball down their attacking end.’
In the second quarter Kingston/Lucindale’s defensive line was working really hard to get the ball out of the circle but Dartmoor worked their way around them and scored goals. By the end of the second quarter both teams were still optimistic about the game and Kingston/Lucindale was wanting to come out stronger to get some goals.
The third quarter began and both teams were fighting for the ball holding their sticks down low to stop any ball that came their way. Lochie Dolphin worked hard to get the ball through but Chris Hille took the ball down the field and hit it straight into the goals.
Dartmoor was wanting more goals and they kept fighting for the ball and getting them through into the goals. By the fourth quarter both teams were puffed out but still wanting to win. As the quarter began Kingston/Lucindale had a few attempts at goal but unfortunately Dartmoor brought the ball back down to the other end by weaving through Kingston/Lucindale players and getting a goal.
Great game played by both K/L Rangers and Dartmoor.
