Redlegs v Greenbottles – Under 16
The last Under 16’s game before finals begin, took place on Saturday at 12pm. The game between Redlegs and Greenbottles was strong, with defence and attack from both teams putting in their all.
The ball spent most of the game in the Redlegs’ defence, which gave the goalie, Cooper Reese, and full backs a chance to prove why they are out on the field. The strong fight and determination from both teams was followed with fatigue and laughter as both teams enjoyed the last minor round.
The team work of the Greenbottles attack, gave the leaders of the team the chance to not only pass the ball to the less experienced players, but also the ability to have a run themselves and score the goals that would win them the game 7-0.

Redlegs v Tatiara – Men
The game began very slowly as men and umpires from both teams were very unenthused to play in the weather. Despite this, the first quarter was great play, and an even better watch. The back and forth dominated the quarter, but Redlegs gained the first goal of the game scored off of a short corner by Tom Batchelor.
As the game progressed, the rain began to quieten, however the temperature dropped. The players did their best to keep warm and the blood pumping, which they succeeded whilst keeping the ball out of their defence.
The majority of the first half was spent in the middle two quarters of the field, however, late in the third quarter, both teams got a few quick breaks in play, which resulted in another goal for Redlegs and Tatiara’s first goal to be scored by Danny Verrall.
The last quarter of the game came quickly for the players, but it felt a lot longer for the sideline viewers. In the short 15 minutes, both teams succeeded in scoring what would be their last goals, in-between playing a great game of hockey. The final score of the game was 3 – 2 Redlegs’ way.

Please note that games will start as scheduled unless penalty shoot-outs require extra time.
Drawn Finals Matches – Across all grades
In the event of a draw the umpires shall declare an interval of 5 minutes. The teams shall change ends and play 5 minutes extra time, then swap ends (no interval) and play another 5 minutes extra time. The first side to score will be declared the winner.
If the final is still drawn at the end of extra time, penalty shoot outs will be played in accordance with 13.6 to determine the winner.
